General Labourer

Compensation: $25 – $28/ hour (full-time / permanent)
On-call premium and overtime paid for rotating coverage

At On Side, Cleaner/Packers, also known as Contents Technicians, show up every day with a can-do attitude and desire to help. This team does vital work helping clients save precious possessions and memories with empathy, compassion, and hard work.

When disaster strikes, Contents Technician teams are deployed to restore order out of chaos and clean up the aftermath. Working on site and in the On Side warehouse means no day or disaster is ever the same.

Key Responsibilities:

• Heavy lifting and moving large items: boxes, furniture, appliances, etc.
• Loading and driving company cargo truck to safely transport contents
• Understanding and experience using hand and power tools
• Demolition experience- careful, mindful, good housekeeping
• Pack, catalog, and clean contents from disaster-affected areas
• Perform pre/post-construction and structural cleaning
• Clean fabrics, textiles, and various surfaces
• Use Encircle Restoration Software for inventory
• Cross training in remediation and water emergencies

What you bring:

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Physically fit, capable of heavy lifting and safety-conscious
• Tech-savvy (comfortable using apps/software)
• Valid driver’s license and clean abstract
• Clear criminal record check
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal

Preferred Experience:

Experience in hospitality, professional cleaning, moving services, or textile care is considered an asset and can contribute to success in this role. Strong customer service skills required.

Of Note

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.
