Course Number and Title: PHL295H1F Business Ethics
Course Description: Philosophical issues in ethics, social theory, and theories of human nature insofar as they bear on contemporary conduct of business. Issues include: Does business have moral responsibilities? Can social costs and benefits be calculated? Does modern business life determine human nature or the other way around? Do political ideas and institutions such as democracy have a role within business?

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in philosophy; strong academic record and professional promise; ongoing research and scholarly publications in the field; relevant and recent teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who have clearly demonstrated teaching excellence in the subject matter.
Description of Duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments; calculation and submission of grades and holding office hours.
