Kennel Attendant | $17–$20/hour Location: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Schedule: Full-Time | Three 12-hour shifts per week Compensation: $17–$20/hour Maritime Veterinary Emergency + Specialty Centre (MVESC) is hiring a full-time Kennel Attendant to join our Emergency & Specialty animal hospital in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about animal care who enjoys staying organized, supporting veterinary teams, and helping create a clean and safe environment for patients.

As a Kennel Attendant at MVESC, you’ll play an important role in supporting daily hospital operations while working alongside a collaborative team dedicated to exceptional patient care.

Opportunities for career advancement and continuing education Supportive work culture fostering collaboration and growth CE Allowance + Uniform Allowance Paid Time Off & Sick Time Shift & Holiday Premiums Medical/Dental/Vision RRSP with employer match Disability & Life Insurance Schedule Targeting three 12-hour shifts per week Mix of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays - Flexibility required Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital, including kennels, treatment areas, laundry, dishes, and common spaces Restock hospital supplies and ensure work areas remain organized Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care needs Observe animal behavior and wellbeing, reporting concerns promptly to the medical team Assist with safe animal restraint when needed Complete additional hospital support duties as assigned Qualifications Compassionate, dependable, and professional attitude Strong communication and teamwork skills Comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments Able to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, bending, and cleaning throughout the shift Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment Fluent English speaking and reading skills required About MVESC Located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, MVESC's 24,000-square-foot hospital is setting a new standard for emergency and specialty veterinary medicine throughout Atlantic Canada.
