Job description
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager/Leader to drive critical infrastructure work packages within the public safety domain. This role focuses on the modernization of radio and telephony systems in high-consequence, 24x7 operational environments. You will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle—from procurement and market scanning to field implementation—ensuring that all technology transitions occur with zero disruption to emergency health services.

Pay Rate: $512.26-$548.56/Diem

Advantages
- Mission-Critical Impact: Lead projects that provide the foundational communication infrastructure for Ontario's emergency responders.

- Executive Visibility: Act as a key advisor in steering committees and stakeholder forums for provincial-scale initiatives.

- Technical Depth: Work at the intersection of safety operations and advanced radio/telephony technology.

- Project Stability: Engage in a long-term assignment with clear objectives and potential for multi-year involvement.

Responsibilities
- Project Governance: Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, and charters according to PMI standards and the SDLC.

- Stakeholder Management: Develop relationships with senior executives and Project Champions to manage expectations and provide authoritative reporting.

- Risk & Issue Mitigation: Proactively identify risks in critical environments, providing options analysis and executing mitigation strategies before they impact operations.

- Financial Oversight: Manage large-scale budgets with strict fiscal control, including forecasting, reconciliations, and actuals confirmation.

- Vendor & Contract Management: Lead the development of business cases (e.g., management board submissions) for long-term support and maintenance contracts.

- Technical Coordination: Oversee work packages related to the backend technology of radio and paging systems, ensuring alignment with Safety Operations.

- Field Leadership: Travel to provincial dispatch centres (CACCs) to coordinate the remediation of telephony and radio equipment.

Qualifications
- Project Leadership: 5+ years of experience in IT Project Management managing large, complex projects.

- Technical Domain Knowledge: Demonstrated experience with the backend technology of radio and paging systems.

- Critical Operations: Proven experience managing projects in 24x7 mission-critical environments; experience in the land ambulance sector is a significant asset.

- Methodology Mastery: Deep understanding of PMI standards, Enterprise Content Management, and hands-on proficiency with MS Project and SharePoint.

- Strategic Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills for preparing Briefing Notes and executive presentations with high political acuity.

- Procurement Experience: Experience leading projects through market scanning, procurement, and full-scale implementation.

- PSRN Project Experience: Previous experience working specifically on the Public Safety Radio Network (PSRN) project is required.
