• Salary: $75,000–$125,000 In accordance with the Montcrest School Salary Grid, based on qualifications and recognized teaching experience

We are looking for a French LTO Teacher to join Montcrest from January 1 to June 24, 2027. The successful candidate will be fluent in French, hold Ontario teaching qualifications, and have French as a Second Language (FSL) Part 1 or equivalent, with additional FSL qualifications considered an asset.

Our French teachers are relationship-focused educators who create engaging, differentiated learning experiences and inspire students to build confidence communicating in French. As a member of the broader Education Team, you will support French curricular and co-curricular learning from JK to Grade 8 and contribute fully to school life through collaboration, clubs and athletics, after-school programming and events, supervision, internal coverage, and other community responsibilities.

Our Hiring Process

We believe hiring should be a two-way process. 1. Application & Shortlisting

Candidates are asked to complete our application form by October 4th 2026. Your responses should help us understand how your experience and approach connect with the About You section of this posting.

Responses will be anonymized and randomized for the initial screening, and we will not review CVs as part of this first assessment. Candidates will be shortlisted using consistent criteria connected to the requirements of the role.

Only candidates selected to move forward will be contacted following the application stage. If you do not hear from us, it means we have decided to move forward with other applicants. 2. Phone Interview (30 minutes)

Selected candidates will be invited to a structured phone interview with a member of our Education Team, with Human Resources supporting and observing the process.

We’ll ask each candidate a consistent set of role-related questions about teaching practice, relationship-building, collaboration, supporting different learners, and contributing to a school community. We ask that you come prepared with questions for us, too. This is your opportunity to learn more about the role, our students, our approach to teaching and learning, and what it means to be part of the Montcrest community.

This is a selection stage, and not all candidates will progress to the next interview. Following the conversation, we will determine which candidates will be invited to continue. We also recognize that this conversation is an opportunity for you to consider whether the role and Montcrest are the right fit for you.

3. In-Person Skill-based & Authentic Belonging Interview

Candidates selected to continue will meet with members of the Montcrest team for an in-person interview.

This stage will include some preparation in advance, along with realistic, role-related scenarios and conversation. Together, these will help us understand how you approach teaching and learning, differentiation, student relationships, collaboration, communication, and the day-to-day realities of working in a school community.

We’ll also explore Authentic Belonging - how you contribute to an environment where students and colleagues feel known, valued, and able to participate fully. This conversation will connect to Montcrest’s mission, values, learning principles, and our commitment to an inclusive community.

You’ll continue to have opportunities to ask questions and learn more about us throughout this stage.

4. References & Safeguarding

Final candidates will be asked to provide professional references. These conversations help us learn more about your work, relationships, strengths, and experience from people who have worked closely with you.

Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of Montcrest’s required pre-employment and safeguarding requirements, including a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
