At Enbridge, we are committed to delivering safe, reliable energy while advancing operational excellence, innovation, and business value through technology. This role will support regulatory proceedings, compliance initiatives, operational activities, and project development with a primary focus on Liquids Pipelines and a secondary focus on Gas Transmission and Midstream (Canada), and Power businesses. Working closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams, you will help navigate complex regulatory environments while supporting Enbridge’s business objectives.

Apply today for this exciting opportunity to grow your legal career and make an impact at Enbridge!

What You Will Do:

  • Provide strategic legal advice, guidance, and risk-based solutions to senior leadership on regulatory, operational, and business development matters.

  • Support the preparation and execution of regulatory applications, hearings, compliance verification activities, and interactions with regulatory bodies (Canada Energy Regulator, Alberta Energy Regulator and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (US)).

  • Advise business units on regulatory requirements and legal matters affecting tolls (rates), tariffs, facilities, operations, compliance, and project development matters.

  • Coordinate and manage external legal counsel to ensure high-quality, cost-effective legal services.

  • Develop and deliver legal education sessions and training programs for employees on relevant regulatory and legal topics.

  • Collaborate with internal legal and business teams to support strategic initiatives while modeling Enbridge’s values of safety, integrity, respect, inclusion, and high performance.

  • Provide advice and assistance to ensure compliance with applicable federal and provincial statutes and common law on complex projects.

  • Keep informed and keep Management informed of pertinent regulatory legal issues, legislative changes and policy developments affecting Enbridge’s crude oil, natural gas and electricity assets and operations, providing timely updates and recommendations to management.

Who You Are:

  • Law degree, membership in a law society/bar association and 2 to 3 years of relevant legal experience.

  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and processes, with pipeline industry experience related to tolls (rates), tariffs, and FERC oil pipeline matters considered highly desirable.

  • Exceptional analytical, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proven ability to manage complex legal, regulatory, and business issues while balancing risk and business objectives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with strong business acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize competing demands effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a commitment to continuous learning and understanding Enbridge’s business operations.

  • Well developed knowledge of company operations; expertise in engineering, environment, business, finance, accounting and project management is an asset.

  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to apply sound judgment and pragmatic solutions.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based role with occasional travel to Enbridge offices, regulatory agencies, hearings, and stakeholder locations, including international travel as required.

  • Fast-paced environment requiring the ability to manage a diverse and complex workload while delivering high-quality legal advice under tight timelines.

**Please note that relocation will not be supported for this position.

Benefits:

  • A flexible benefits program that allows each employee to select the level of coverage needed for their family in the areas of health, dental, insurance and disability.

  • A paid maternity and parental leave benefit that offers up to 20 weeks of paid leave for birth-giving parents and up to 12 weeks for other eligible parents, providing flexibility and support during this important life event.

  • Valuable retirement savings plans, including a savings plan with company stock as an investment option.

  • Paid time off/vacation/sick, plus paid personal days off (depending on location), and paid holidays.

  • An Employee and Family Assistance Program.

  • A Wellness Program, which focuses on supporting healthier employees by providing tools, resources, and opportunities to improve physical, mental, social, and financial well-being.

  • Enbridge’s FlexWork (hybrid work model) offers eligible employees (Manager and below) the option to work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays, opt for a compressed work week schedule, or have flexible start and end times. Role requirements determine your eligibility for each option.
