Position: Supervisor, ProductionLocation: Kapuskasing, ON

GreenFirst is looking for a Production Supervisor to supervise all shift activities to obtain optimum productivity, quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness in a safe working environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Promote and provide a safe workplace, seek improvements, support Health & Safety Program.
  • Lead a motivated, efficient, and engaged team and provide career development opportunities.
  • Coach and mentor employees to ensure maximum performance.
  • Maintain a communications program to keep your team informed regarding mill and department priorities.
  • Support compliance with collective agreement and sound union/management/employee relations.
  • Report to the Superintendent, Production.
  • Supervise section and site production operations where required by maximizing materials, labour and equipment use to achieve or exceed production and quality targets as well as financial objectives (cost control and reduction).
  • Supervise, direct and coach employees to help them achieve their maximum level of effectiveness; identify and meet training needs pertaining to their job, health and safety and the environment.
  • Ensure that product quality complies with specifications by making required inspections and working with the Customer Service and Technical Department to develop programs.
  • Work with Maintenance Supervisors (mechanical and electrical) to ensure optimum performance and efficiency of shift maintenance work (mechanical and electrical).
  • Identify, recommend and/or implement changes to improve production procedures, equipment performance, working conditions and product quality to increase the section’s efficiency.
  • Review production, quality control, maintenance, downtime and statistical reports and work orders to ensure optimum planning of own activities.
  • Ensure that employees comply with Company rules, policies, programs, and procedures as well as all health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Perform all shift administrative duties (reports: production, maintenance, timesheets, accidents, performance, training employee turnover, environment, etc.) in compliance with the labour agreement in force.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 5 years in related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – conflict management, coaching, supportive feedback, and problem solving.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise teams in a unionized environment and promote a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Must be computer literate, including a strong knowledge with MS Office products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
  • Leadership Skills.
  • Bilingual: English & French (An Asset).

Responsabilités:
  • Promouvoir et fournir un lieu de travail sûr, rechercher des améliorations, soutenir le programme de santé et de sécurité.
  • Diriger une équipe motivée, efficace et engagée et offrir des possibilités d'évolution de carrière.
  • Encadrer et guider les employés afin de garantir des performances optimales.
  • Maintenir un programme de communication afin de tenir votre équipe informée des priorités de l'usine et du service.
  • Contribuer au respect de la convention collective et à l'établissement de bonnes relations entre le syndicat, la direction et les employés.
  • Relevant du surintendant de la production.
  • Superviser les opérations de production de la section et du site, le cas échéant, en maximisant l'utilisation des matériaux, de la main-d'œuvre et de l'équipement afin d'atteindre ou de dépasser les objectifs de production et de qualité ainsi que les objectifs financiers (contrôle et réduction des coûts).
  • Superviser, diriger et encadrer les employés pour les aider à atteindre leur niveau d'efficacité maximal ; identifier et satisfaire les besoins de formation relatifs à leur travail, à la santé, à la sécurité et à l'environnement.
  • Veiller à ce que la qualité des produits soit conforme aux spécifications en procédant aux inspections requises et en collaborant avec le service clientèle et le département technique pour élaborer des programmes.
  • Travailler avec les superviseurs de la maintenance (mécanique et électrique) pour assurer une performance et une efficacité optimales des travaux de maintenance des équipes (mécanique et électrique).
  • Identifier, recommander et/ou mettre en œuvre des changements pour améliorer les procédures de production, les performances des équipements, les conditions de travail et la qualité des produits afin d'accroître l'efficacité de la section.
  • Examiner la production, le contrôle de la qualité, la maintenance, les temps d'arrêt, les rapports statistiques et les ordres de travail afin d'assurer une planification optimale de ses propres activités.
  • Veiller à ce que les employés respectent les règles, les politiques, les programmes et les procédures de l'entreprise ainsi que l'ensemble de la législation en matière de santé, de sécurité et d'environnement.
  • Effectuer toutes les tâches administratives des équipes (rapports : production, entretien, feuilles de temps, accidents, performances, formation, rotation du personnel, environnement, etc.) conformément à la convention collective en vigueur.
  • D'autres tâches connexes qui lui sont confiées.
Exigences:
  • Expérience : 5 ans dans un domaine connexe.
  • Excellentes compétences interpersonnelles - gestion des conflits, coaching, retour d'information positif et résolution de problèmes.
  • Capacité avérée à diriger et à superviser des équipes dans un environnement syndiqué et à promouvoir une culture d'amélioration continue et de collaboration.
  • Maîtrise de l'informatique, y compris des produits MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
  • Compétences en matière de leadership.
  • Bilinguisme : anglais et français (un atout).
