Unit Summary
The Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Program at Hamilton Health Sciences, Regional Rehabilitation Centre serves the rehabilitation needs of individuals with acquired brain injuries and their families. The ABI program consists of inpatient units, an outpatient clinic, community outreach and consultative services. The Community Services component is a fee for service program which generates revenue.
Position Summary
The Secretary will provide accounting support for the Fee-for-Service component of the ABI program, which is a marketed service and third party funded; support the Integrated Adult Concussion Clinic; participate as a member of the ABI clerical support team located in the Regional Rehabilitation Centre, Level 1. This position also performs other secretary tasks such as payroll, ordering, and month-end collections to contribute to the functioning of the ABI team and financial sustainability of the program.
Schedule Work Hours
Monday to Friday; days
This position is temporary until December 2027.
Qualifications
1. Commercial/Business/Secretarial College Diploma/Certificate or equivalent office experience required.
2. Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Collections within the last 2 years.
3. Demonstrated ability and experience to generate and monitor financial reports is essential.
4. Formatting and submitting staff reports in EPIC, Word and PDF.
5. Demonstrated proficiency required in general computer operations including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, EPIC and Adobe Pro
6. Excellent verbal (including telephone) and written skills required
7. Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative, organize and establish priorities
8. Knowledge with FSCO, HCAI, WSIB billing and Practice Perfect definitely and asset
9. Experience with staff payroll and Kronos is an asset.
Applicants will be required to participate in a skills test to establish basic proficiency.
