As our next Test Lab Technologist , you’ll be at the forefront of supporting our development engineering department by conducting testing, inspection, and prototype build activities. Your expertise in lab operations, measurement instruments, and test machine programming will be key in ensuring accurate, timely results and continuous improvement of lab practices.

What You’ll Be Doing :

  • Complete lab work requests in a timely manner in collaboration with the Test Lab Supervisor
  • Set up and operate test machines and fixture combinations for various performance tests
  • Conduct component inspections using CMM, micrometers, verniers, and other instruments
  • Support prototype builds, including assembly of test components
  • Perform teardown and analysis of returned pumps and completed test parts
  • Provide technical support for new test setups, including gauging, plumbing, sensors, and electronics
  • Document and communicate test results effectively to stakeholders
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment
  • Support continuous improvement of lab practices and capabilities
  • Ensure compliance with Johnson Electric’s FPS Quality, Safety, and Environmental Systems
  • What We’re Looking For :

  • Diploma in Mechanical Technology or equivalent education and experience
  • Understanding of detailed part prints and GD&T
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills
  • Knowledge of CMM operation (an asset)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude
  • Willingness to work afternoon shifts
  • Effective communication skills across teams and departments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • CAD design experience (asset)
  • MS Access development experience (asset)
  • Bonus Points If You Have :

  • Advanced CMM expertise
  • Experience with CAD or database development in lab settings
  • Proven track record in continuous improvement of lab operations
