THE ROLE
STRIVE have partnered with a fast-growing, multi-entity organization in the healthcare services space. The client is seeking a Financial Controller to take ownership of financial reporting, cash flow, and performance insights whilst providing centralized finance, payroll support allowing the clinics to focus on patient care.
The group currently operates 10+ clinics, with near-term growth underway and a clear long-term vision to scale. Backed by experienced healthcare investors, the organization is building out its corporate team to support multi-entity operations, consolidated reporting, and disciplined expansion.

This is a highly visible Controller role reporting directly to ownership, ideal for a hands-on Controller who enjoys building structure, improving systems, and partnering with non-financial leaders to support smart growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes for 10+ clinic locations.
- Review and approve bank reconciliations and GL entries prepared by the Financial Operations Specialist.
- Ensure all financial statements are prepared in accordance with ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises).
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax accountants.
- Support development and maintain annual budgets and monthly rolling forecasts for each clinic location.
- Provide deep-dive analysis on clinic performance, including margin analysis and practitioner productivity.
- Present monthly "Financial Health" decks to ownership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Monitor consolidated cash flow across all entities to ensure adequate working capital.
- Manage corporate financing, loan covenants, and relationships with banking partners.
- Oversee tax compliance, including GST/HST filings and corporate tax installments.
- Lead the optimization of Sage Intacct and its integration with clinical and payroll systems (Jane App/Rippling).
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate risk across decentralized clinic locations.
- Standardize accounting workflows to ensure scalability as the group adds new locations.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- CPA designation (CA, CGA, or CMA)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in a Controller or Accounting Manager role
- Experience overseeing multiple entities or locations
- Strong systems mindset with advanced Excel skills
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud-based accounting systems (Sage Intacct strongly preferred)
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while partnering closely with ownership
- Experience in healthcare, professional services, or multi-location businesses
- Exposure to payroll and operational systems supporting distributed teams
- Background supporting growing, entrepreneurial organizations
