Job description
Windigo Education is seeking a passionate and qualified educator to teach Junior/Senior Kindergarten at Michikan Lake School in Bearskin Lake First Nation for the 2026/2027 school year.About UsWindigo Education Board serves over 400 students across four First Nations communities. Our schools provide quality education rooted in land-based teachings, activities, and values that support student growth through collaboration between school, family, and community.About Bearskin Lake First NationBearskin Lake is a vibrant Oji-Cree community located in northwestern Ontario. Our school provides a culturally rich learning environment that celebrates Indigenous traditions and values.QualificationsBachelor of Education degreeMember in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or eligible for membershipExperience working with Indigenous students preferredStrong commitment to early childhood education and culturally responsive teachingResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement engaging, play-based learning experiences aligned with Ontario's Kindergarten ProgramCreate a nurturing and inclusive classroom environmentCollaborate with teaching partners, families, and community membersAssess and document student learning and developmentParticipate in school and community eventsBenefitsRelocation assistance and airfare to/from communityTravel benefit for Christmas holidayOne AQ course paid for annuallyComprehensive benefits package including pension, insurance, and medical coveragePlease ensure your application is updated with the following:1.
