ABOUT THE JOB:
- Support mining, milling, and TMA operations across Porcupine surface sites, including Hollinger, Pamour, and Dome properties.
- Carry out survey tasks safely and efficiently, contributing positively to the survey team and other departments.
- Complete day-to-day surface tasks, including pattern layouts, grade checks, “no-dig” and dump limit layouts, restricted area mark-ups, data processing, and drone flights.
- Plan and prioritize survey tasks to prevent operational delays.
- Provide accurate processed surveys to end users and timely notification of any data anomalies.
- Maintain survey equipment in good working order and report any functionality issues to the Lead Surveyor.
- Ensure survey data is current, readily available, and supports mining-related activities.
- Carry out high-quality survey tasks to prevent rework or miscommunication.
- Assist with month-end survey requirements and other survey-related tasks as directed by the Lead Surveyor.
Candidates must be local to Timmins.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to the worksite are required.
- Technician or Technologist Diploma in Mining or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of open pit surveying experience in the mining industry; surface mine operation experience is mandatory.
- Technically competent with a strong understanding of surface survey techniques and practices.
- Able to work collaboratively in small teams and communicate effectively with other departments.
- Focused, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
- Strong computer skills; familiarity with Pix4D, Point Studio, and Deswik is an asset.
