OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will participate and collaborate with members of the health care team in the promotion and advancement of technical and professional practice, in support of the organizational cardiac strategic planning. This individual is flexible within the outlined responsibilities and will participate in guiding practice, policy, and procedure to achieve excellence in the Pacemaker and Heart function Clinic.
EDUCATION
- Regulated Health Care Provider ( RN, APN or RT).
- Member in good standing with the respective Regulatory College.
- Member of professional organization(s) such as RNAO or CSRT.
- BLS and ACLS certificates required.
QUALIFICATION
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in Cardiology or Critical care.
- 3 - 5 years of previous related experience in a permanent pacemaker and heart failure clinics.
- Proficient in arrhythmia interpretation.
- Proficient knowledge in advanced patient assessment and 12-lead ECG interpretation.
- Demonstrated in-depth clinical expertise regarding care of patients and families with needs and knowledge of the continuum of services in pacemaker/ heart function.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner using well developed leadership, critical thinking, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated sound interpersonal, team development and conflict management skills.
- Knowledge and skill with regard to patient safety, change leadership, project management and evaluation.
- Experience in supporting/ conducting research an asset.
- Demonstrated flexibility to work occasional shifts and weekends to support operational need.
- Excellent work and attendance record required.
- Sound computer skills required (Microsoft office), experience with developing data bases an asset.
- Must be willing to be on call as required within the Pacemaker/ Heart Function program.
