About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to play a key role in the development and delivery of advanced Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions supporting critical defence and security missions.
This is an opportunity to work on complex, mission-critical systems that integrate software, hardware, communications, and operational capabilities to support military and defence customers. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and partners throughout the full system lifecycle, from concept and design through integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering activities across the full project lifecycle in an Agile/SAFe environment.
- Develop and tailor systems engineering processes, methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Analyze, define, and manage system requirements using industry-standard requirements management tools (., DOORS).
- Create system architectures and detailed designs for complex software and hardware-based solutions.
- Review and validate engineering designs, plans, schedules, and technical deliverables from internal teams and external partners.
- Conduct technical investigations, root-cause analysis, and design reviews to identify and resolve system issues.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, including:System architecture documentsInterface specificationsDesign documentationVerification and validation artifactsTechnical proposals and system specifications
- Support verification, validation, integration, and acceptance testing activities.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, integration, test, and program management teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with operational requirements and mission objectives.
- Support on-site and remote system integration, installation, and deployment activities.
- Evaluate and recommend technical solutions to address system deficiencies, enhancements, and evolving requirements.
- Lead technical studies, trade-off analyses, and solution evaluations.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience delivering complex defence or military systems projects.
- Strong background in Systems Engineering for large-scale software and integrated systems.
- Proven expertise in:Requirements definition and managementRequirements analysisSystem architecture and designSystem integrationVerification & Validation (V&V)Technical documentation development
- Experience with DOORS or similar requirements management platforms.
- Hands-on experience integrating hardware and software components, including COTS and custom-developed solutions.
- Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle within defence environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical reviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting C4ISR, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR), or command-and-control systems.
- Knowledge of military operational environments, standards, and defence acquisition processes.
- Experience working within SAFe Agile development organizations.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) practices.
- Experience preparing technical proposals, concept documents, and solution architectures.
- Exposure to defence technologies and platforms such as:TAKSitaWareORBAT management toolsTactical Battle Management Systems (TBMS)
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams delivering mission-critical solutions.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
