Lumber Yard / Forklift Operator to join their team for a full-time opportunity in the
greater Moncton area. This role involves handling, organizing, and moving lumber and building materials in a busy yard environment. If you enjoy operating machinery, working as part of a team, and staying active on the job, we want to hear from you!
THE ROLEAs a
Lumber Yard / Forklift Operator, you will play a key role in the daily operations of the yard, assisting with shipping and receiving, preparing customer orders, and keeping materials organized and safe. Your work ensures smooth yard operations and supports excellent customer service.
Schedule:Full-time hours (may include some weekends or flexible shifts)
Overtime may be required during peak seasons
Location:Job site is at the local lumber yard
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Load and unload lumber, building materials, and supplies from trucks
- Prepare and stage customer orders accurately and on time
- Assist customers with product selection and loading materials
- Safely operate gas-powered saws to cut materials as needed
- Inspect incoming shipments and report damages or discrepancies
- Maintain organization and proper inventory in the yard
- Perform regular equipment checks and report maintenance needs
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of hazards
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors
REQUIREMENTS- Previous forklift experience required (certification preferred)
- Experience in a lumber yard, construction, or building supply environment is an asset
- Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50–75 lbs or more)
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Valid driver’s license
- Steel-toe boots and appropriate safety gear
WHAT WE OFFER- $22-$23 based on experience + 4% vacation pay
