The Position
:The Cariboo-Chilcotin School District is seeking applications for the excluded permanent position of Assistant Superintendent, as we add to our leadership team. We have a strong leadership team and have been growing a collaborative culture, focused on improving teaching and learning. It is an opportunity for an experienced and skilled educator to work with our partner groups and communities as we continue to create learning environments where everyone demonstrates a sense of belonging, mastery, independence and generosity. This position will start on August 1, 2026, or a mutually agreeable date. Key Job Responsibilities:Develops and supports programs to improve instruction and learning. Collaborate with district and school administrators to support programs for the success of all students. Provide leadership and direction to staff to achieve district's goals and objectives.Provide support to the Superintendent and Board of Education in the creation and enhancement of the District Strategic Plan. Reviews assessment results and provides recommendations to the education team. Develops and maintains respectful working relationships and partnerships with local, regional and provincial agencies and organizationsDevelop budgets for accounts under their jurisdiction and ensures spending occurs within allocation. The Ideal Candidate:We are seeking a collaborative and strategic leader who demonstrates sound judgement, integrity and communication skills. The ideal candidate will focus on student success and outcomes, be invested in integrating indigenous ways of knowing into district practices and processes, be dedicated to evidence-based practice and decision making and will have a positive solution-focused approach to address challenges. Required Education and Experience: Hold a master's degree in education or a related discipline, and hold a BC Teaching CertificateRecent and successful experience as a senior leader in districtExperience working with indigenous communities and leadershipEvidence of collaborative approaches to leadership and shared decision-making Compensation:The compensation package will be commensurate will the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The salary range for the position is $196,662 to $211,464 and a competitive benefits package and paid time off. Further details will be provided through the recruitment and selection process.
