Hays has recently partnered with a developing Calgary firm who are looking to add an Architectural Technologist to join their growing office. Taking a client-centric approach in everything they do, this firm's diverse team infuse their artistic talents, experience and imagination to bring life to design. They provide architectural and interior design services for mixed-use, multifamily,mercial and institutional projects across AB, BC and NWT. Your new role
This role will involve preparing and coordinating detailed architectural drawing packages from design development through to construction documentation, while ensuringpliance with applicable building codes, regulations, and municipal requirements. The successful candidate will apply building science principles to envelope detailing, constructibility reviews, and technical problem-solving, while coordinating architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical consultant information to produce fully integrated project documentation. Responsibilities will also include supporting permit submissions, reviewing drawings and specifications for accuracy and quality, and participating in construction administration activities such as site reviews, shop drawing reviews, RFID, supplemental instructions, change documentation, and deficiency reporting. Working closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients, you will help resolve technical and construction-related issues throughout both the design and construction phases of a project.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience as an Architectural Technologist, with local project experience strongly preferred. You will possess experience working on mixed-use, multifamily,mercial, and/or institutional projects, along with extensive knowledge of local building codes and building science principles. Proven construction administration experience is essential, including conducting site reviews, reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, managing deficiencies, and preparing contract administration documentation. A strong understanding of construction methods, building systems, technical detailing, and project delivery processes is required, along with proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
What you'll get in return
The successful candidate will receive a base salary $70,000 – $80,000 (dependent on experience) + bonus potential, extended benefits, public transit reimbursement and opportunities for growth within thepany.
