Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Shop Labourer, where you will play a crucial role in supporting day-to-day operations within our facility. You will assist welders, operate grinders and an overhead crane, and occasionally work with the millwrighting team on basic assembly and disassembly tasks. This position also involves driving a sitdown forklift and performing general shop clean-up and sweeping tasks.

Responsibilities

• Aid welders with daily tasks, including using grinders and an overhead crane.
• Assist the millwrighting team with basic assembly and disassembly tasks.
• Operate a sitdown forklift as needed.
• Perform grinding, deburring, and drilling using a mag drill.
• Engage in general shop clean-up and sweeping.
• Consistently lift up to 50lbs and use general tools.
• Address additional tasks that arise in real-time within the shop.

Essential Skills

• Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts.
• General labor and production skills.
• Mechanical inclination.
• At least 1 year of general labor experience.
• Shop experience, including grinding, deburring, and drilling with a mag drill.
• Proficiency in using power tools and handling heavy lifting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• First Aid Certification with CPR is a plus.
• Experience in a shop or production facility, working alongside welders and millwrights.

Work Environment

The facility, located in Leduc, opened in 2023 and currently has a staff of approximately 20 people, with plans to grow. Work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime opportunities available after 40 hours in a week. The work environment is specialized and collaborative, focusing on the mining, and oil and gas industries.

This is a Contract position based out of Leduc, AB.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
