Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionThis role involves working in a food manufacturing facility performing general production and packaging tasks. You will handle repetitive, physically demanding activities that require strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and adherence to strict food safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform general production tasks in a food manufacturing environment, including handling, processing, and moving products through various stages of production.
- Carry out packaging duties such as filling, sealing, labeling, and preparing products for shipment while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
- Follow all GMP, food safety, and HACCP procedures to ensure products meet regulatory and company quality requirements.
- Use proper lockout procedures and safety practices when working around equipment and machinery.
- Lift, move, and position materials and products weighing up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, floor to shoulder, and waist to shoulder as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with GMP and food safety guidelines.
- Stand, walk, bend, crouch, squat, and reach for extended periods to complete production and packaging tasks.
- Perform repetitive manual tasks with a high level of manual dexterity and precision.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hair nets, smocks, safety shoes, and ear protection, at all times in designated areas.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and report any hazards, incidents, or equipment issues promptly.
Essential Skills- General production and packing experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality and accurate packaging.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.
- High level of manual dexterity for repetitive production and packaging tasks.
- Understanding of production and general labor tasks in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including bending, standing for long periods, walking, crouching/squatting, and reaching above shoulder and below waist level.
- Comfort working with repetitive physical demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of GMP, food safety, and HACCP practices.
- Familiarity with lockout procedures and safe equipment handling.
- Knowledge of WHMIS and safe handling of workplace materials.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Prior experience in a food manufacturing or GMP-regulated environment.
- Previous training or certification in GMP, food safety, and HACCP.
- Training or familiarity with lockout/tagout safety procedures.
- Knowledge or training in WHMIS.
- Experience working in a high-volume production environment with large teams.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Reliability and punctuality to support continuous production operations.
