Our client, a Canadian company specializing in the manufacture of building materials for over 70 years, is currently looking for an INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE MECHANICIAN for their Dorval plant. This full-time, permanent position is for the day shift (6 : 30 a.m. to 2 : 45 p.m.).
INDUSTRIAL MAINTENACE MECHANICAL'S MAIN MISSION :
The maintenance mechanic will perform repair and preventive maintenance activities. This includes rapid diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair and replacement of parts for flat steel coil slitting lines, packaging equipment, banding tools, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
RESPONSABILITIES : Operational :
Maintain and repair machinery, equipment, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems while meeting priorities for schedule, safety, quality, productivity, and reliability.
Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of maintenance workers daily to ensure that orders can be completed in line with customer and departmental requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain schedules and procedures for preventive maintenance programs in coordination with the necessary departments, and keep records / documents up to date.
Daily inform scheduling and production departments of repair time required if it takes more than 24 hours; systematically record equipment downtime and repairs carried out.
Research, negotiate and administer supply, parts, and service contracts for maintenance, including annual inspection, of material handling equipment.
Plan, organize, transfer, and install machinery and equipment according to
manufacturer's instructions without compromising safety.
Provide daily reports and updates on equipment requiring preventive maintenance,
repairs, or parts replacement. Prepare necessary report forms and documentation.
Plan, monitor and manage maintenance budget.
Identify and implement work measures to continuously improve work methods,
systems, productivity, safety, and service quality.
Provide any other assistance requested by management.
Ability to work staggered hours to meet production requirements as required.
Health & Safety :
Correct and communicate any unsafe acts / conditions to the Plant Safety Manager.
Support and promote all aspects of the company's health and safety program.
Carry out regular workplace inspections, both scheduled and unscheduled.
Monitor accident frequency and history and analyze injury data.
Report all accidents / incidents promptly, investigate and act on recommendations.
Comply with all Bailey safety programs, confidentiality, and legal requirements.
Other :
Maintain a high level of knowledge, ethics, and professional practices in dealing with customers, suppliers, peers, subordinates, supervisors, and other company stakeholders.
Behave in a professional manner with integrity and respect towards customers, suppliers, peers, subordinates, supervisors, and other company stakeholders.
Participate in the company's quarterly inventory. REQUIREMENTS :
5 to 7 years' experience in an industrial environment
Experience with hydraulic systems and heavy equipment is essential.
Welding skills with mig and tig welders are essential.
Knowledge of forklift and overhead crane repair is an asset.
Bilingualism (French and English) is essential.

Quick learner, team player, initiative, and ability to meet deadlines.
Computer skills, including knowledge of MS Outlook and Excel, are required.
