What you’ll be doing :

You will be a welcomed member of the team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Server, you will support residents’ health and well-being by assisting with meal preparation and service, ensuring a safe, clean, and pleasant dining experience every day. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day..

What makes you a great fit?

• Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving and cleaning tables;
• Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef;
• Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department;
• Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures;
• Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready;
• Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness.
• Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act

What you need to know :

• Minimum One (1) of experience in dining room service;
• Must have the Serving it Right Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment;
• Must have the Food Safe Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment;
• Ability to work independently and / or as a member of a team;
• Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset;
• Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills required
