POSITION SUMMARY
Strike Group is looking for a CWB Structural Welder with relevant experience in oil & gas construction / facility maintenance. Typical welds include joining structural components such as beams, channels, and plates and ensuring welds are completed as per welding procedure specifications and drawing packages. - Full-time position based out of our Bonnyville shop
- Must be willing to preform portable welding call outs involving intercompany & client project fabrication & repair utilizing Strike equipment
- Candidate must be local to Bonnyville or be willing to relocate
- No LOA will be considered for in-shop welders
- Must be willing to attend additional training at management's request for progression within the company
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Emphasis on Safety, Quality, and Production while working in accordance with client specifications and weld proceduresRead and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirementsConduct repairs, modifications, and retrofitsCutting, gouging, grinding, welding of all types of structural materialsMonitor parts usage and report on any material issuesFit and weld skids and structural subassembliesUse hand torches, welding machines, and power and hand tools in safe manner while reporting deficienciesUnderstand and participate in the Quality Control ProgramFollow written and oral instructions from the Foreperson / Lead HandCommunicate with Foreperson / Lead Hand to identify material or equipment deficienciesCommunicate with other workers to ensure timely job progressionOrganize and keep work area and equipment clean and functionalAbility to maintain work schedules and attendance to Strike acceptable standardsQUALIFICATIONS
SMAW & FCAW all position welding tickets requiredExperience with SMAW / FCAW in both shop & field settingsApprentice or Journeyperson applicants will be consideredAbility to weld aluminum in both Spool Gun & Tig procedures considered an assetAerial Work Platform / Skid Steer / Zoom Boom operating experience considered an assetExperience using or ticketed for shop overhead bridge cranes & rigging an assetValid driver’s license & clean driver's abstractKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.Developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.Ability to follow direction / learn on the job.Comfortable working safely outdoors in any seasonProactively seeks and accomplishes tasks that lead to a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.Customer service experience in fast-paced settings are considered a benefit to this safety-sensitive position
