Your exciting opportunity to become a Unit Clerk of a General Medicine Unit at Chinook Regional Hospital. The candidate for 4C is one who has strong interest in acute medicine. We're looking for a Unit Clerk to join our unit that truly believes in patient and family centered care as well as working on a unit that strives to be supportive, caring and fun The Unit Clerk is responsible for managing the flow of information and providing clerical support to staff and physicians on the units of hospitals, continuing care centers and other medical facilities.
Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.
Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Recognized Unit Clerk course or training program required (recognized equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications:Acute care experience preferred.
