ACADEMIC RESPIROLOGIST

The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences invite applications for an Academic Respirologist with expertise in sleep disorders with additional training/experience in the care of patients with neuromuscular disease. Experience with chronic ventilation in tracheostomy patients would be an additional asset. The successful candidate will work on the Respirology consult service at Hamilton General Hospital and build up the neuromuscular service there, as well as work as part of the sleep clinic at St Joseph’s Healthcare interpreting sleep studies and providing in patient and out-patient sleep medicine consultations. They would be actively part of the nationally recognized McMaster Sleep Disorder Medicine AFC Program.

This is a full-time faculty position for a period of three years (renewable). Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will be a full-time member of the Division of Respirology and will be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Faculty and Division. The successful candidate should have appropriate fellowship training and will be expected to fully participate in all appropriate departmental and divisional educational activities.

Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.
