Job Title: Inventory Controller
Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining accurate inventory records, managing material flow, and supporting warehouse operations to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time. You will perform inventory adjustments, scrapping, and cycle counts, while entering and updating data in warehouse management systems and spreadsheets. The position also involves hands-on warehouse tasks such as picking, packing, and shipping and receiving, with occasional heavy lifting.
Responsibilities
- Perform inventory adjustments and scrapping activities in accordance with established processes and procedures.
- Receive material orders from suppliers and ensure all incoming goods are accurately recorded in the inventory system.
- Conduct regular cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
- Provide timely updates on parts in the warehouse that may impact customer orders and communicate any potential issues.
- Ensure inventory control and accuracy by entering and maintaining data in the warehouse management system and Microsoft Excel.
- Support warehouse operations, including order picking, packing, and shipping and receiving activities.
- Use RF scanners to locate, pick, and record inventory movements within the warehouse.
- Follow standardized procedures to support root cause analysis and corrective actions for inventory issues, contributing to continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with internal team members across multiple warehouse locations to align on inventory levels and order priorities.
- Handle physical tasks safely, including lifting items up to 50 pounds, while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 1 year of inventory control experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and performing data entry.
- Minimum 1 year of shipping and receiving experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting.
- Experience with cycle counting and maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Experience using RF scanners for inventory and order picking.
- Ability to perform order picking, shipping, and receiving tasks in a warehouse environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and inventory recording.
- Good communication skills to provide clear updates and coordinate with team members.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as needed.
- Motivated and reliable work ethic with a focus on completing tasks efficiently and correctly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Aviation industry experience is an asset.
- Experience working with small parts is an advantage.
- International shipping experience is considered a strong asset.
- Sit-down forklift experience is preferred and may lead to further training opportunities.
- Interest in learning additional warehouse tasks, projects, and equipment operation, including potential forklift training.

Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing and warehousing environment in northeast Calgary, supporting production of utility aircraft and related components. The facility operates multiple warehouses that store and ship parts worldwide, with several buildings located near the airport. You will work on a day shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00 . to 3:30 ., for a 40-hour workweek or 8-hour workdays. The schedule includes two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute lunch. The team consists of approximately 17 staff members across Calgary, who are stationed at various locations but coordinate closely internally. The work involves regular use of warehouse technologies such as warehouse management systems, RF scanners, and Microsoft Excel, as well as hands-on tasks like picking, packing, and shipping and receiving. The environment requires safe handling of materials with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and adherence to standard warehouse safety practices and attire appropriate for a manufacturing and warehouse setting.
