Your Opportunity:
This position is in Canmore, Alberta at the Canmore General Hospital. The Pharmacist will help support the provision of Pharmaceutical Services and Drug Distributions functions for Inpatients. The position will require active participation in multidisciplinary patient care teams, working with other health care professionals and the provision of drug information to Pharmacy, Nursing, Medicine, and other multidisciplinary team members. This position encompasses supervisory functions, committee & project work, and precepting and teaching of staff and students.
Description:
As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.
Required Qualifications:Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Current, provisional or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacist.
Additional Required Qualifications:Advanced Prescribing Authority (APA) is required. Successful candidates not having APA will be expected to obtain it within 6 months of commencing this position, dependent on eligibility. Recent Pharmacy related experience in a hospital setting or in direct patient care providing comprehensive medication management services in a collaborative care model. Recent experience as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team. Experience with Connect Care/Epic computerized medication order entry, verification, and different drug distribution systems such as unit dose.
