Care Team Leader - Nights

24 hours per week - 2 night per week

8 pm - 8 am - 2 on and 5 off shift pattern

Job Purpose:

To lead and support the care team in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents living with dementia. To ensure residents' physical, emotional, and social needs are met whilst promoting dignity, independence, wellbeing, and a safe homely environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and support Care Assistants during each shift.
• Ensure residents receive compassionate, person-centred care in accordance with individual care plans.
• Monitor residents' wellbeing and promptly report any concerns or changes in condition.
• Administer or oversee medication in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support residents with personal care, nutrition, mobility, and daily living activities.
• Maintain accurate care records and complete all required documentation.
• Conduct shift handovers and ensure effective communication between staff teams.
• Promote a positive, safe, and supportive environment for residents, visitors, and colleagues.
• Assist with staff induction, training, and ongoing development.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, accidents, incidents, and safeguarding concerns.
• Support compliance with CQC standards, health and safety requirements, and infection prevention procedures.

Person Specification:

• NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it.
• Previous experience working within a residential, nursing, or dementia care setting.
• Experience leading a team.
• Good understanding of dementia care and person-centred practices.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
