Equipment Sales Representative

Join SMS Equipment as an Equipment Sales Representative and take ownership of your territory. You’ll be the face of trusted equipment solutions, forging strong customer relationships, uncovering new opportunities, and driving the growth of your market. Work Location: Surrey, BC
Salary: $40,000 annually plus commission, with a fist-year earnings guarantee of $75,000 (base salary + guaranteed commission).
This role requires frequent travel within your assigned territory.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular visits, clear communication, and a focus on their needs.
• Proactively generate leads, make cold calls, and close sales in your territory.
• Manage your schedule and pipeline to meet deadlines and deliver on commitments.
• Track market trends and work with the Sales/Operations Manager to set targets and shape strategy.
• Prepare quotes and collaborate with the GM of Sales to align pricing and terms.
• Maintain accurate records of customer data and sales activity in the CRM.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of sales experience (heavy equipment industry preferred). Additional qualifications include:

• Familiarity with a wide range of construction equipment and ability to recommend solutions.
• Confident in cold calling, building new business, and managing a busy schedule with competing priorities.
• Proficient with CRM systems, quoting tools, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within assigned territory.

This position is classified as an Individual Contributor role in SMS Equipment’s competency framework, requiring demonstration of core competencies (customer focus, collaboration, and technical/functional expertise).
