The successful candidate
will be supported bylocal and central office staff and have access to a great benefit program. You willbe surrounded by leaders and colleagues that want the best for each student in their learning andwell-being.Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:• Be aware of any allergies a student may have.• Establish clear instructional direction to support a positive learning climate in the contextof the Denesuline culture and language.• Provide positive ways for classroom environment that is conducive to learning andappropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of all students.• Plan and organize materials ahead of time.• Assess and document student learning daily.• Assess and maintain student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, andother school related activities.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Must be patient, flexible, observant, and passionate.• Must have communications skills such as: verbal and nonverbal, active listening, andempathy.• Must have strong understanding of the following programs and assessments: EffectivePractices, Policies and Guidelines; Saskatchewan Curriculum.• To follow the provincial Ministry of Education curricula and focuses on holistic childdevelopment including the social-emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual domains.• Actively engage with families, children, and community members to understand theirbackgrounds and experiences to support an equitable and inclusive school environment.• Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school-basedstaff, students, parents and community.• Maintain confidentiality of students and other professional informationQualifications:• Bachelors Degree in Education or equivalent.• A recognized post-secondary Diploma as an English Teacher or equivalent post-secondaryeducation in a related area from a recognized institution would be an asset.• Must be eligible for or posses a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate.• Experience in teaching First Nations students at a remote community would be an asset.• First Aid Certification would be an asset.If you are interested in applying for the above position, please submit your resume along with acover letter, references and a most recent Criminal Police Record Check and a Child VulnerableSector Check to:Athabasca Denesuline Education AuthorityAttention: Human Resources Department153 South Industrial DrivePrince Albert, SK S6V 7L7Senior English Teacher • Saskatchewan, Canada
