Construction Manager
MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Construction Manager for a leading utility and infrastructure organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement experience to support complex capital construction programs and initiatives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams, overseeing contractor performance, supporting safety and operational excellence programs, and driving the successful delivery of construction projects and initiatives. This role offers a hybrid work environment with occasional travel to project sites throughout British Columbia.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction management experience or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience providing project management for multidisciplinary teams consisting of employees, consultants, and contractors.
- Proven ability to lead and influence in complex, multi-employer construction environments.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and technical direction to construction professionals.
- Experience implementing or improving operational processes and technologies to enhance business performance.
- Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, relationship management, coaching, and mentoring capabilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and WorkSafe requirements.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License in good standing.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience working within large utility, infrastructure, or capital construction environments.
- Experience supporting contractor safety programs and high-risk work controls.
- Experience facilitating training programs, onboarding initiatives, and operational readiness activities.
