The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning. We are seeking creative, dynamic, committed teachers to join our: Elementary Occasional Teacher (OT) Roster We are looking for Certified Occasional Teachers to join our Elementary OT Roster (K-8).Occasional Teachers replace short term absences in our schools and are an integral part of our district. Qualifications Must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (individuals with a pending OCT certificate should proceed with submitting their application)Must hold a minimum of one Basic Qualification of either Primary, Junior or Intermediate.Application Process All applications must be submitted through Apply to Education. Those who have applied to both postings and have been selected for an interview for both panels will participate in a single interview. **Local residency is a mandatory requirement for onboarding. Successful candidates must reside in the Ottawa or surrounding area or be willing to relocate within 60 days from the date of offer, and must be available to begin accepting assignments immediately upon completion of the onboarding process. Interviews We thank all applicants for their interest in Occasional Teaching with the OCDSB. Following the closure of this competition in August 2026, only candidates with the required qualifications, who are in Good Standing and visible on OCT, will be contacted for an interview for the next available date. Interviews are expected to take place in September 2026. Should your OCT certification remain pending at the closure of this competition, you will be required to re-submit your application.
