Learn more about our school: JOB DESCRIPTION Sacred Heart Elementary is looking for a qualified Education Assistant for the 2025-26 school year. Education Assistants (EAs) are part of the school-based team providing educational assistance for all students. The role of the EA reflects the practice of inclusive education where all students are supported and entails supporting students, teachers and the curriculum. The primary focus of the EA is to facilitate the students to become more independent, engaged members of the classroom, and develop interdependence between students with and without special needs while encouraging the use of supports including assistance from the classroom teacher and other students. EA’s work under the supervision of a certified teacher or other professional who is responsible for the conduct and management of the classroom or program, including planning, implementation and evaluation of the instructional program and student progress. This role is suited for people who work well in a team, have empathy and patience and can collaboratively create solutions to learning challenges.
