Job Summary
This is a day-to-day operational support role on a team of 6 members within a large North American banking organization. The role offers the opportunity to apply deep knowledge of Canadian payroll taxes and collaborate with many teams across the organization. A 2-week training period is provided.

Key Responsibilities
Team Responsibilities
- Balance all year-end tax slips and complete year-end government filings
- Support all expatriate assignments and some globally mobile employees
- Participate in both internal and external audits
- Provide customized payroll and year-end tax slip support for the CEO and Senior Executive Team
- Manage end-to-end Board of Directors' payrolls
- Identify, review, and prepare POIs for reconciliation as needed
- Review and correct taxes from the Retiree Demographic report and the US Tax Data Query
- Respond to employee inquiries through ServiceNow cases
Specific Accountabilities
- Ensure the integrity of the Workday HR/Payroll data, including any tests or validations required
- Assist in the preparation of manual and amended tax slips
- Support all payroll accounting year-end payroll data to ensure they are recorded and processed accurately
- Recommend and implement changes to current processes to gain efficiencies and accuracy
- Manage adjustments and resolution with business partners as needed
- Process quarterly Director Fees payroll
- Handle manual off-cycle processing and EIB data loads
- Process bi-weekly cheque reversals
- Run and action Pier/Variance reports to correct data integrity errors, ensuring the accuracy of year-end tax slips
Other Tasks as Required
- Manage daily administrative processes and functions for expatriate payroll
- Support the processing of shadow payrolls
- Balance payroll tax slip boxes
- Provide accurate and timely resolutions to inquiries from internal and external business partners
- Review and validate the accuracy of annual PIER reports from CRA and RQ
- Perform other tasks as required

Required Skills
- Working knowledge of Workday (reporting)
- Expatriate experience 3 years
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Federal/Provincial and U.S. regulatory and legislative requirements related to payroll (Canada Revenue Agency / Revenu Quebec / IRS)
- Report Reconciliation principles experience
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Sound knowledge of Workday (Payroll & HR application), particularly in year-end Workday processes, as well as expertise in Resolution Management and Pier/Variance report Reconciliation principles

- Post-secondary education in finance and accounting, data analytics, or computer science
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Designation (PCP) nice to have (or working towards completion)
