Our client is a leading civil contractor specializing in municipal underground utility and infrastructure projects throughout the Lower Mainland. With a strong portfolio of watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and civil infrastructure projects, they are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Project Manager to lead complex projects, mentor project teams, and drive operational excellence.

The Opportunity
As the Senior Civil Project Manager, you will oversee multiple underground utility and civil infrastructure projects from award through completion. You will be responsible for project planning, financial performance, client relationships, contract administration, and the successful execution of projects while providing leadership and mentorship to Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
Working closely with senior leadership, Superintendents, Foremen, municipalities, consultants, and clients, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple civil infrastructure and underground utility projects simultaneously from contract award through closeout.
- Develop project execution strategies, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Monitor project financial performance, forecasting, cost control, and profitability.
- Review drawings, specifications, tender documents, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and project resources.
- Partner with Superintendents and Foremen to ensure efficient and safe project execution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, municipalities, consultants, engineers, and inspectors.
- Oversee contract administration, progress claims, change orders, RFIs, and project documentation.
- Identify project risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Mentor and support Project Coordinators and junior Project Managers in their professional development.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practices across the project management team.
Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of Project Management experience within civil construction.
- Proven experience delivering municipal underground utility projects.
- Extensive knowledge of:
- Watermain infrastructure
- Sanitary sewer systems
- Storm sewer systems
- Strong understanding of MMCD contracts and municipal specifications.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong background in project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and contract administration.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- P.Eng., EIT, or C.Tech. designation is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

Compensation & Benefits
