We’re an engineering firm that builds and maintains the telecommunications infrastructure that supports major networks like Bell, Rogers and Telus. We’re growing, and looking for entry-level climbers to join our team - could this be you? As our new entry level climber, you will work as part of an experienced field inspection team to complete inspections on cell tower structures. You’ll travel to different sites daily, mainly across Ontario, and sometimes to western Canada. You’ll be responsible for three types of inspections: audit inspections, post inspections and CSA Maintenance inspections. You’ll complete inspections from the ground, and from the towers themselves (by climbing up between 100 to 1000 feet). For audits, you’ll gather information for structural analysis, and for post inspections, you’ll ensure everything is installed per engineering drawings and client specifications. Then, you’ll take your findings to assemble inspection reports. You’ll use your AutoCAD skills to create basic CAD drawings to illustrate your measured findings. Your education has prepared you for this job, but you’re the right person for this role if: You’re comfortable working at heights: a big part of your job involves tethered climbing, from 100 feet to maximum of 1000 feet. Heights don’t scare you – you’re an adrenaline junkie who will love the daily adventure. You enjoy working outdoors: you’ll be working outside, in all types of weather conditions. You’ll enjoy the fresh air, and not being stuck in an office. Ideally, you’ve had some experience working outdoors before. You’re safety-conscious: working safely matters to you. You’ll take care to follow proper health and safety procedures to ensure your safety. You’re ambitious: this is an entry-level role where you’ll put in the work to gain as much knowledge as you can about our industry and structures. As you gain experience, you’ll progress to a more senior role. This excites you, because you want to grow your career with us. AutoCAD Drafting In this role, you will also work closely with a Intermediate Steel Detailer, as well as other key stakeholders (Engineers, consultants, contractors, etc.) to gather the details you need to produce, maintain, and update accurate AutoCAD drawings and schematics. Practically speaking you will: * Conduct site visits to gather information * Produce AutoCAD drawings that meet client expectations and project deadlines * Maintain and update AutoCAD schematics as required * Work collaboratively with internal (senior detailer, engineer) and external (clients, consultants, contractors) stakeholders to understand project requirements and complete drafting packages In addition to your growth and expertise, you’ll be successful here because you are aligned with TELETEK’s Company values: Value Growth and Team Resourcefulness: We all contribute to our team’s success! THE DETAILS In office, MONDAY – FRIDAY 8-5PM, St. Jacob’s, Ontario Travel as required to visit project sites. * Full time permanent position (40h / week) - Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m * 2 weeks vacation / year * 5 sick days / year Qualifications You’re made for this role if you have the following qualifications: * Desire and ability to obtain working at heights certificate and/or completion of a working at heights certification (by climbing towers up between 100 to 1000 feet) * You are a Civil Engineering Technology or Drafting Program Graduate * Proficiency with AutoCAD * Experience working with AutoCAD, professionally or academically preparing drawings and schematics in AutoCAD related to civil engineering and/or structural detailing * Valid driver’s license for travel to field inspection sites * Experience working with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) at an intermediate level And you’ll be even better prepared if you have the following: * Experience in the engineering or construction industry How to Apply Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person – not just a resume.
