Role Responsibilities
The Alberta Human Rights Commission’s Communication, Education and Engagement Division (CEE) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Education Resources Coordinator to join our team. This position plays a pivotal role in overseeing the development of education and information resources, including for the Commission’s website and other educational publications.
You will play a key role in analyzing the efficacy of current resources, and make recommendations for enhancing our offerings in line with stakeholder needs and organizational priorities. This position reports to the Manager, Public Information and Education and leads project teams to develop education resources from the conceptual stage through development, implementation, and evaluation.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Developing education and information resources, managing all aspects of project management including planning, research, consultation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
Ability to create and manage timelines
Providing expert advice on the content and format of Commission education offerings
Translating complex human rights concepts into plain language content for specific audiences
Applying adult learning and accessibility principles (such as WCAG 2.1)
Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that resources are comprehensive and complementary, and meet the needs oftarget audiences as well as all Albertans
Working with other staff to disseminate materials and resources to key stakeholders
Understanding of program research and evaluation
Overseeing project budgets and contracts
Providing leadership, advice and consultation to other staff involved in developing documents, publications, and related resources
Developing educational content for the website, the Commission’s key education tool
Overseeing procurement processes and supervising contracted service providers
Supporting the education team in implementing multimedia to maximize accessibility of human rights education resources
Providing expert advice on the content and format of Commission education and information resources to increase their clarity and usability for target audiences.
Demonstrating an understanding of human rights, as it relates to Alberta’s human rights legislation, diversity and inclusion, and other human rights principles
Participating in Communication, Education and Engagement’s (CEE) strategic planning and reporting,
Required :
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and schedule assignments to meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational and time -management skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of the linkage between print and online resources and how they integrate with websites and social media and digital platforms.
Excellent editing and proofreading skills, with keen attention to grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, consistency and engagement in the updating and creation of publications
