Job Summary
If you have an engineering mindset and a passion for deeply engaging with Journey partners to fully understand and drive forward their goals, then the Core Platform's Manage Customer Accounts (MCA) Business Systems Analyst team is the place for you! MCA's applications form the Book of Record for all aspects of personal and commercial business deposit and chequing accounts as well as registered deposit accounts and a Line of Credit product. This critical data is used by key banking systems (e.g. Easyweb, Mobile, C3, S3) to deliver account-centric information and services to technology and business partners.
The ideal candidate brings a solid IT background preferably in Mainframe exceptional communication skills to bridge Journey needs with technology solutions, and thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. As a key member of the Pod Agile delivery team, you will be actively involved in many features to enhance and deliver new functionalities supporting Journey-sponsored and Infrastructure initiatives. You will translate complex requirements into clear JIRA user stories using the Behavior-Driven Development methodology to ensure delivery outcomes meet customer and stakeholder expectations. You will work in close collaboration with Journey partners, Product Owners, Architects, Software Engineers, and Quality Engineers to drive clarity, test, and support deployment.
The primary purpose of the role is to translate business needs into technical concepts for technical teams and technical constraints into business language for stakeholders. You will plan, manage, and lead the delivery of system requirements in alignment with standards and frameworks, providing technical leadership and working in close partnership with various partners and stakeholders to plan, elicit, analyze, document, communicate, and manage functional and non-functional requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Customer
- Leverage specialized domain, product, and systems knowledge to have a thorough understanding of the business, product, and vision; provide business-technology interaction subject matter expertise as well as recognize and drive the focus toward business value.
- Identify, document, and validate current state technology capabilities/ecosystem and support stakeholders to design the desired future state; provide recommendations and/or direction based on the end-to-end customer experience when making decisions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine solutions, assess impact to existing work processes and systems, and how to manage the integration.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications taking into account non-functional requirements.
- Own and manage the traceability of system requirements through design and development, testing, and deployment; ensure the acceptance criteria demonstrates the changes to systems that will meet stakeholder expectations.
- Support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing.
- Provide support/oversight and guidance in the delivery of technology requirements with focus on quality, reusability, scalability, and innovation.
- Promote innovation by applying subject matter expertise to generate forward-thinking ideas as well as critical thinking to find opportunities for improvement.
- Provide operational and process-related analysis and support as needed.

Required Skills
- 8 years of BSA, Software Engineer, or Quality Engineer experience
- Strong hands-on experience inquiring and maintaining data on Mainframe screens MUST HAVE
- Strong experience within Scaled Agile framework
- Strong understanding of Behavior Driven Development for writing user stories
- Strong experience using Jira and Confluence

Education Requirements
- Post-secondary education (Diploma or Degree) is an asset
