The RBC Dominion Securities branch located in Burnaby (Kingsway) is seeking an Associate to provide trading support to a successful Equity, Options, and Futures Broker. You will be responsible for trading on behalf of retail/corporate clients once proficiency exams have been completed. You will also provide quality client service and help deepen relationships with existing clients through ongoing, efficient support to both clients and the Advisor Team.

What will you do?

• Trading equities, futures, and options on behalf of retail/corporate clients
• Provide proactive client service with a focus on problem resolution and attention to details. Liaise with various departments for execution, where necessary.
• Respond to client inquiries (account transactions, requests for tax receipts, account reporting, etc.).
• Assist the Advisor team with client onboarding.
• Help manage incoming communications from clients, Advisors and other internal and external partners.
• Maintain existing client accounts and identify opportunities to contact clients: manage timelines and key dates for accounts
• Ensure accurate and timely updates of all necessary documentation in compliance with internal controls and industry regulatory requirements. Maintain complete and up-to-date client files within appropriate systems.
• Help update team’s communication channels: websites, LinkedIn, Facebook, brochures, newsletters.
• Follow up on client trades to ensure proper settlement and delivery

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Completion of Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE)
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
• High level of time management and organization skills
• Demonstrated skills in providing world-class client service that will come across as professional, warm, and friendly to our clients
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions

Nice-to-have

• Experience in equity and options trading
• Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities’ systems and procedures
• Knowledge of commodity markets and trends
• Understanding of risk management and financial regulations
• Experience in the securities industry is an asset
• Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g. Derivatives Fundamentals Exam, Futures Licensing Course, Technical Analysis Course, Options Licensing Course are a plus)

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable incentive payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals; market conditions; and business needs.

The expected base salary range for this position is $37,500 - $45,000.

This position may be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment up to 1.0x base salary.
