Position Overview
The Technical Sales Representative / Engineer is responsible for the sales, promotion, and technical support of Sika’s full range of mining products and equipment across the Shotcrete, Tunneling, and Mining Business Unit.
In this customer‑facing role, you will serve as a trusted partner to mining companies, consulting engineers, contractors, and distributors, consistently representing Sika’s values, technical excellence, and commitment to safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote Sika’s full product portfolio to engineering firms, contractors, and distribution partners to drive product specifications
- Provide on‑site technical support and expertise for active projects
- Execute territory sales strategies to increase market share and drive revenue growth
- Contribute to sales forecasts, pricing strategies, and budget planning
- Support shotcrete crews by:
- Monitoring material performance
- Delivering hands‑on training
- Recommending solutions to reduce dust and rebound levels
- Educating teams on proper equipment maintenance and operating procedures
- Prepare and participate in RFQs, tenders, and bid submissions
- Deliver Lunch & Learn sessions, seminars, and technical presentations to customers and partners
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve on‑site issues and address customer concerns
- Perform field testing and complete detailed performance reporting
- Represent Sika at trade shows and play an active role in relevant industry associations
Qualifications
- Civil, Mining or Geotechnical Engineering Degree or Equivalent Experience
- 2- 3 years of relevant mining experience
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills
- Highly analytical
- Self-starter and ability to work unsupervised
WORKING CONDITIONS/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- All safety training including WHMIS, confined space, working at heights is an asset
- Knowledge and training to physically apply shotcrete with associated equipment
- Ability to lift up to or exceeding 20KG
- Uniform provided and follow industry standards for PPE relating to mine site or construction site
- Much time spent underground in varying temperatures
- Required to travel and spend time in remote areas
Vehicle/ Driver’s License Requirements:
- Company vehicle provided.
- Must have valid driver’s license and comply with Sika Fleet Safety Policy requirements.
- Technical Sales Representatives has responsibility for prudent care and protection of company assets.
