Accounting Manager

Our client is a litigation firm. They are looking for an Accounting Manager who will be responsible for overseeing core accounting functions including AP, AR, GL, and Trust Accounting while leading a team of approximately 10 accounting professionals. The role is primarily focused on team leadership and departmental oversight, ensuring reconciliations, monthly close processes, tax filings, billing, collections, and reporting activities are completed accurately and on time. Working closely with senior leadership, the ideal candidate is calm under pressure, highly organized, and experienced managing teams in a high-volume environment.

About the Opportunity

• Accounting Manager leading core accounting operations: AP, AR, GL, and Trust Accounting.

• Oversees a team of ~10 accounting professionals.

• Majority of the role is people leadership / departmental oversight vs heavy hands-on production.

• Ensures departments are functioning well, workload is spread properly, reconciliations are complete, and books are closed.

• Oversees monthly close, reconciliations, tax filings across jurisdictions, year-end package prep, billing/collections oversight, and support for quarterly reporting / annual statements / audits.

• Works closely with Director of Finance, Director of Operations, and Managing Partners.

About You

• CPA Designation/ In Progress/MBA

• Team management experience: minimum 2–5 direct reports; ideal background managing larger teams.

• Strong accounting fundamentals / accounting principles.

• Experience with reconciliations, month-end close, tax filings, and trust accounting oversight.

• Strong communication skills.

• 5–7+ years relevant experience.

Salary Range

$140,000 - $150,000/year
