Job description
Our client is looking for a Skid and Wheel Loader Equipment Operator for their Northern Ontario mining operation, located 3 km west of Matachewan, ON.

What You'll Do:
- Operate skid steers (Bobcat-style) for tight-space cleanup, material scooping, backfilling, snow clearing, and feeding hoppers or conveyors.
- Operate wheel loaders (front-end loaders) to load ore, aggregate, or waste rock into haul trucks, crushers, or processing plants.
Pre and Post-Operation Checks:
- Conduct mandatory daily safety and mechanical walk-arounds (checking fluid levels, tires/tracks, hydraulics, lights, and alarms).
Site Maintenance & Utility Work:
- Clear debris, grade haul roads or pads, move supplies, and assist with general site housekeeping.
Attachment Handling:
- Install, inspect, and remove different bucket types, forks, sweepers, or grapples depending on the task.
- Communication & Compliance:
Report mechanical defects or hazards immediately to the supervisor. - Follow strict site-specific mine safety protocols (e.g., lock-out/tag-out, high-visibility rules, radio communication procedures
What You Need:
- 1 to 3+ years of verified seat-time operating heavy equipment (front-end loader, skid steer, excavator, or dozer) in mining, aggregates.
- A valid Ontario Class G driver’s license
Required PPE:
- CSA-approved steel toe boots
- CSA-hard hat
- CSA-high visibility coat or vest & pants
- CSA safety glasses
- Cleats (during the months of November to March)
