Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Cloud Architect with proven expertise in designing, migrating, and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure and data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL database architecture and enterprise-level data management strategies, coupled with hands-on experience across leading cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. This role involves leading end-to-end cloud initiatives, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions that align with business objectives.

As a Cloud Architect, you will design and implement secure, scalable, and compliant Azure architectures while leading SQL database migrations from assessment through post-migration validation. You’ll build Azure Landing Zones using Bicep, Terraform, and ARM templates, ensuring alignment with Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption and Well-Architected Frameworks.

Responsibilities include conducting workload assessments, implementing identity and networking per best practices, enforcing security and governance with Microsoft Defender and Azure Policy, and automating deployments via Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions. You’ll leverage Azure migration tools and third-party solutions, document operational readiness, and provide knowledge transfer and skilling plans to customer teams.

Required Skills & Experience

Required Azure Skillsets :

Deep expertise in Azure SQL (IaaS, PaaS, Managed Instance, Arc-enabled SQL).

Strong knowledge of Azure Landing Zones (ALZ) design and deployment.

Experience with Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Reviews.

Proficiency in Azure networking, identity management (Microsoft Entra ID), and resource organization.

Hands-on with Azure migration tools and automation (Bicep, Terraform, ARM, Azure DevOps, GitHub).

Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Automation, Backup / Site Recovery, and policy-as-code compliance.

Ability to produce audit-ready documentation and evidence for Azure specializations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3 years in cloud architecture.

Proven expertise in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL in cloud environments.

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (RDS, Aurora), Azure (SQL Database, Cosmos DB), or GCP (Cloud SQL, BigQuery).

Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash) and IaC tools (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation).

Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud ecosystems.

Experience with CI / CD pipelines and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Relevant certifications (, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect) are highly desirable.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud strategies.

Familiarity with NoSQL databases and data lakes.

Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks (, GDPR, HIPAA).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
