Position Purpose
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for performing CNC machinery and operational tasks.
Responsibilities
Set up and perform machining on CNC machines.
Ensure the assembly of tools and fixtures according to operation manuals.
Operate the machines.
Strive to maximize engagement by operating multiple machines during waiting phases or long machining cycles.
In the absence of the team leader, be able to identify the work to be done using the priority list in the ERP system.
Ensure diligent reporting of all activities by clocking tasks as accurately as possible according to presented standards and notify the manager if unable to do so to capture lost time.
Ensure all work procedures are followed (program review).
Inspect parts and complete the self-check sheet.
Maintain cleanliness of the workstation, machine, and keep tools and measuring instruments in good condition.
Communicate instructions and the progress of ongoing work to the next shift.
Inform the supervisor of any anomalies or issues that may hinder production.
Clean the workstation and document the process regarding the work performed.
Perform any other related tasks.
Job Requirements
Education
DEP in machining techniques or equivalent (minimum).
ASP or DEC in machining (an asset).
Technical Skills
Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and plans.
Ability to use measuring instruments.
Ability to set up simple and complex parts.
Attention to detail and autonomy; organizational skills; ability to work in a team.
Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in French, both spoken and written.
