Job Description : Senior Analyst-Developer - Event Platform (Confluent - Kafka)

The Event Streaming and Transformation Technology Foundation is responsible for several cross-functional platforms providing high-volume event data streaming and processing capabilities. As a cross-functional team, we collaborate with all of our client’s application development projects to offer modern, high-performance platforms that meet their needs.

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Developer specializing in the management and optimization of Kafka (Confluent) platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data streaming infrastructure, ensuring high performance and reliability of our critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Deployment : Design and deploy Kafka (Confluent) solutions tailored to the needs of our client’s various business applications, taking into account performance, security, and stability requirements.
  • Automation : Develop scripts and tools to automate the deployment, configuration, and management of Kafka clusters.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting : Set up monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve performance and reliability issues.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration : Work closely with development, architecture, and security teams to ensure the seamless integration of Kafka solutions within the company’s technology ecosystem.
  • Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive and up-to-date technical documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures related to the platform.
  • Training and Support : Provide training and technical support to team members and internal project teams to ensure efficient use of the platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology or Software Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing, using, and optimizing Kafka products, Kafka Connect, and event stream transformation technologies (Kafka Stream, KsqlDB, Flink) in an enterprise setting is REQUIRED.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, such as OAuth2 authentication, SASL / SSL, RBAC-based authorization, SSO, and certificate management.
  • Proficiency in various Kafka monitoring and management tools (Confluent Control Center, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and Dynatrace) to monitor performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ability to optimize Kafka performance, including the management of topics, partitions, replicas, and configuration tuning for maximum performance.
  • Strong programming skills (Python, Java, or .NET) and scripting (Bash, Perl, etc.).
  • Experience with Agile / SAFe methodology is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Skilled at simplifying technical concepts, with an interest in knowledge sharing and collaboration.
