Torus Talent is searching Canada wide for a Senior HR Advisor (Labour Relations) on behalf of our Blue-chip Client.
To be successful in this challenging position, you MUST have a strong background in labour and union relations to support our client’s workforce and foster a positive labour environment. This role will see the successful candidate work closely with employees, union representatives, and leadership to ensure compliance with labour agreements, resolve workplace issues, and enhance employee relations strategies.

- Relocation to BC’s interior is an absolute must for this position. All relocation costs are covered by the employer, so hybrid or remote work is NOT an option.
- A strong background in Mining, Oil & Gas or Heavy Industrial industries is highly valued
- Strong knowledge and experience working within Collective Bargaining Agreements and Employment Law is a MUST HAVE
Responsibilities
Act as a key advisor on labor relations matters, ensuring compliance with collective agreements and labor laws.Develop and implement labor relations strategies, including contract administration, grievance handling, and dispute resolution.Oversee the execution of contracting-out strategies to align with business objectives while maintaining positive union relationships.Provide guidance to supervisors and managers on union-related matters, fostering effective working relationships between management and labor representatives.Conduct workplace investigations related to grievances, harassment, human rights, and other employee concerns, ensuring fair and timely resolutions.Lead collective bargaining preparations, including research, strategy development, and negotiations support.Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor regulations.Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the workforce.Support change management initiatives related to labor relations and workforce planning.Perform other related duties to support organizational labor relations objectives.Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Psychology, or a related field.7-10+ years of progressive HR experience, with a strong focus on labor and union relations.In-depth knowledge of employment laws, labor legislation, and collective bargaining agreements.Proven experience managing grievance processes, arbitration, and labor disputes.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to foster strong relationships with both union representatives and management.Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.Professional HR designation such as CPHR (or in progress) is considered an asset.Why Our Client?
