Job description

The Opportunity:

Red River Co-op (RRC) is looking for professional, hardworking, energetic, reliable and outgoing individuals to join our Community Ambassadors team. We’re searching for people looking to gain entry level marketing experience on a part-time basis. Individuals must have a passion for community and spreading the benefits of a Co-op membership. As a member of the team, you will represent the brand at various community events, activations, and more. You’ll engage with people wherever you go and supply content for social media channels.

Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Be a knowledgeable and enthusiastic brand ambassador.
  • Animate crowds, attract attention, engage and interact with community members.
  • Equipment/signage set up and tear down to required visual standards.
  • Manage any activations for event (inventory, giveaways and questions from public).
  • Maintain a positive attitude (in all weather conditions) while on-site.
  • Work with minimal on-site supervision and be able to problem-solve on the fly.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Responsible, reliable, detail orientated and punctual.
  • Self-motivated, energetic and outgoing personality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and walk and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Must have a flexible schedule including availability during evening and weekends.
  • Valid Manitoba Driver’s License with access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Street-level promotions experience with the ability to problem-solve and deal with adversity would be an asset.
  • Marketing/communications student would be an asset.

Compensation:

This position pays $17.00 per hour, for approximately 10-15 hours per week throughout the summer. Events will be days, evenings and weekends.
