Summary: AGAT Laboratories is hiring for an entry-level Laboratory Technician , working out of our Gas and Condensate Lab in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

This is a Full time Permanent position where you will be part of a small team of analysts that will require one to be adaptable and willing to assume new responsibilities and tasks as required. What you will be doing: Prepare samples as well as perform lab technician analysis.

Maintain intermediate instrumentation in optimized and calibrated condition.

Troubleshoots instrumental problems and basic maintenance of instrumentation.

Perform sample, reagent and calibration standard preparation.

Theoretical knowledge of GC’s and chromatography/spectroscopy.

Report results for client samples.

Verify and validate data.

Keep accurate and up-to-date records.

Follow all SOPs and QC procedures.

Meet quality assurance and turnaround time specifications.

Other administrative/laboratory tasks as assigned.

What you bring to the table: B.Sc.

or Technical Diploma in Chemistry/Environmental Science preferred but not required.

Ability to operate, troubleshoot and maintain GC equipment.

Intermediate computer skills with experience using MS office.

Ability to work in a team environment and mentor other technician.

Some lifting and carrying (up to 10kgs) Participate in on-call for weekends and evenings, shift runs 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Willing to work overtime during peak season.
