Job Description

This role focuses on safely operating forklifts and reach trucks to support shipping and receiving activities in a warehouse environment. You will handle inbound and outbound shipments, accurately pick and stage customer orders, and assist with inventory control in a food manufacturing setting. The position requires attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a warehouse team.

Responsibilities

• Handle shipping and receiving by processing inbound and outbound shipments, verifying paperwork, and preparing orders for dispatch.
• Operate forklifts and reach trucks safely to move, stack, and organize products and materials within the warehouse.
• Accurately pick, stage, and prepare customer orders according to specifications and schedules.
• Support inventory management by assisting with cycle counts and maintaining organized stock locations.
• Perform general warehouse duties, including maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and warehouse protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to support smooth warehouse operations.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience operating a reach truck for at least 1 year.
• At least 1 year of experience working in shipping and receiving functions.
• Current external reach truck license or certification.
• Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts safely in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to lift up to 22 lb and perform physical tasks associated with warehouse work.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate order picking, staging, and documentation.
• Basic understanding of inventory processes such as cycle counting and stock organization.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with warehouse safety standards and best practices.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions clearly.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Reliability and punctuality in adhering to scheduled work hours

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse environment within a food manufacturing setting. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, providing regular daytime hours. You will work around material handling equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks, with a focus on maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace. The position involves regular lifting of up to 22 lb and standing or walking for extended periods as you move throughout the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mississauga, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
