Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Gillfor Distribution has an opening for a Forklift Operator at our Saskatoon location. As part of our Lumber Yard team at our Saskatoon Distribution Centre, you will work in a team environment reporting directly to our Shipping Supervisor. You will be responsible for efficiently and accurately assembling customer orders and loading customer trucks. This is a full-time position.

Expectations:

• Loading and unloading of building materials in a safe and timely manner
• Assist in loading orders onto customer trucks
• Periodic inventory counts (quarterly) and spot checks
• Assist in keeping a tidy and organized lumber yard
• Compliance to all work safety rules and regulations
• Politeness to customers and truck drivers who are picking up or dropping off orders

Ideal Attributes:

• High School Diploma
• Forklift Certificate
• Minimum of two years lumber yard experience is a definite asset
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds if necessary
• Knowledge of the building materials industry is an asset
• Able to work in outdoor conditions
• Flexibility with start and finish times
• Reliable and punctual
• Self-Motivated and able to work without supervision
