Job description
Hey there! Our family in Ottawa, Ontario (old barrhaven) is searching for a reliable and caring nanny to look after our infant starting Sept. 2026 On some occasionals mom will be working from home, and some days she will be in-office. We are therefore hoping for someone who can be fully independent and confident in looking after our child and multitasking other chores around the house. This is a live-out position and will be 3 days a week (Monday, occasional Tuesday late afternoon/evening, Wednesday, Friday). We are offering a competitive wage of $25.00 per hour, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about childcare and has experience with infants and early childhood development. Our ideal candidate is someone who is reliably available on a weekly basis, responsible, and able to create a safe and stimulating environment for our little one. The nanny will be responsible for feeding, changing, engaging our infant in age-appropriate activities, and taking him and his dog-brother Dusty out for a daily walk. Additionally, light housekeeping duties related to the baby may be expected (at present wiping counters in the baby room, washing bottle and pump parts, dishes, laundry, preparing purees for baby solids and cleaning up the inevitable mess of baby throwing food). The schedule will be consistent, but may require some flexibility on rare occasions. Our little one is a happy little 8 month old who can quickly warm to strangers with consistent play. Afternoon naps are still difficult at present and he may need to be contact napped or cuddled to sleep before transfer to crib asleep to prevent overtiredness overnight. However in the mornings we use as an opportunity to do gentle sleep training in the crib.
